Donate to the Afnan Library

If you are inspired by the life of Hand of the Cause Mr Balyuzi and the work of the Afnan Library and would like to help his legacy grow so that the ‘rising generations’ may themselves follow in his ‘glorious footsteps’ and emulate his ‘outstanding scholarly pursuits’, you can do so by a number of ways.

If you wish to support the library by donating books and manuscripts or volunteering your time, please follow this link.

We do sell our surplus stock of books. So if there is a particular Baha'i title that you are looking for, please use the Contact page (Subject: Library Holding Enquiry) to enquire. Unfortunately postal rates are now very high.

If you wish to make a financial contribution, you can do so by various means:

1. Direct Payments to our Bank Account

United Kingdom residents can make direct payment into our bank account through BACS. Please pay into the following Account:

The Afnan Library Trust

Account number: 00600088 Sort Code: 30-93-80 (Lloyds Bank)

If you wish, please give your name in the Reference box and if you are a UK tax payer please contact our Treasurer through the Contact page (select “Financial Contribution”) so that your donation can be credited for Gift Aid repayments from the government at no extra cost to you.

We also have a US dollars account into which you can pay through ACH, and a Euros account into which you can pay by BIC or IBAN. Through our multi-currency account we can also take donations in Canadian, Australian and New Zealand dollars and many other currencies. Please contact our Treasurer through the Contact page to obtain details of this.

2. Online contributions

We can also collect donations online. If you are living in the UK then please make your donations through the Paypal Giving Fund as there are no deductions made for doing this. If you are a UK taxpayer please click on the link at the bottom of the Paypal Giving Fund page to give an extra 25% at no cost to yourself through the government's Gift Aid scheme. You need to have a Paypal account to use this method of donation or you can set one up as part of the process of making the donation. (If you do not want to have a Paypal Account, you can use the next method below without a Paypal account):

For all other donors, you can use any Debit Card or Credit Card on the Paypal website (you do not need to have a Paypal account). Please click on the button below or go to your Paypal account and search for "Afnan Library Trust":

3. Postal contributions

If you are not happy with an online donation for any reason, you can also make a contribution by sending a cheque through the post. In order to do this, please contact the Treasurer of the Afnan Library using the form on the Contact Page, and selecting “Financial Contribution”.

4. Easyfundraising (UK only)

You can also support the Afnan Library while you are shopping for goods and services online at no extra cost to yourself by using Easyfundraising.co.uk.

There are over 8,000 sites where you can buy goods and services and a small proportion of your spending comes back to the Afnan Library at no extra cost to you. This includes shopping sites such as eBay, Argos and John Lewis, buying flights from sites such as Expedia and Opodo or train journeys from thetrainline.com, or mobile phone services from sites such as Carphone Warehouse, and there are also price comparison websites for car and home insurance, broadband and digital TV, mobile phones and energy utilities. If you do your supermarket shopping online, most supermarkets (such as Ocado, Tesco and Sainsbury's) are part of the scheme. After you’ve purchased and checked out, that retailer will make a donation to the Afnan Library (via Easyfundraising) for no extra cost to you whatsoever. There are no catches or hidden charges and the Afnan Library Trust will be really grateful for your donations. Thank you for your support.
